Md Nazmul Hasan

Vice President

Md Nazmul Hasan is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. His research focuses on advanced topics in electromagnetics and antenna design, and he has contributed significantly to his field through numerous publications and technical leadership.


Nazmul has been recognized with multiple prestigious academic honors, including the Four Year Doctoral Fellowship (FYF), the Graduate Support Initiative (GSI) Scholarship, and the President’s PhD Excellence Award at UBC. Prior to his doctoral studies, he received the STEM Graduate Scholarship during his Master's studies in South Korea.


Beyond academia, Nazmul is the founder of Scholarship School BD, a non-profit voluntary initiative dedicated to guiding Bangladeshi students in securing scholarships, developing research profiles, and building leadership and management skills. He also founded Tensorbundle, an educational platform that offers accessible and high-quality content on electrical engineering through YouTube.


Nazmul is actively involved in community leadership and professional organizations. At UBC, he held the position of Secretary for the Graduate Student Association at the ECE department during the 2021–2022 academic year. He currently serves as Vice-Chair (IT) for the 2024–2025 term and previously served as Vice-Chair (University Relations) for the 2022–2023 term in the Bangladeshi Engineers and Computer Science Professionals of British Columbia (BECBC).


His research portfolio includes 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, a U.S. patent, and over 490 citations on Google Scholar. He has also presented his work at prominent international research conferences and events, including IEEE Joint Aerospace & Electromagnetics Society, Vancouver, Canada (December 2020), at IEEE APS-URSI, Montreal, Canada (July 2020), at ISAP, Busan, South Korea (October 2018)
